Week 1.

Remember how I started Weight Watchers? I did. I'm going to document my journey and experiences here, so if you don't want to read it well, then don't read the posts titled "Week 1; Week 2" etc. ;-)

-1.6 pounds

-1.6 pounds to date

I was excited to see that drop! Especially because it hasn't even been a full seven days since my initial weigh in! Woot. At first I was like, well, I'm not going to get excited about 1.6 pounds cause, well, it's not much. And yeah, it *isn't* much. But you know what it is? A start. And maybe next week it will be -3, and by the end of month, -8?! Moving on...

I haven't set any goals for what I ultimately want to lose. What I know is that I want to be comfortable, happy and confident. The last time I remember not thinking I was fat was in 2008. Woof. That's a long time. And that is a whopping 55 pounds It is daunting.

September 2008 (hey I know that other girl)

October 2008

January 2013

So that's the background. Here's how the week went!

The good:

  • I did a really good job of bringing snacks to work and tracking everything I ate.
  • I went to the gym TWICE this week!
  • I brought my lunch to work and didn't have to have a 25-point lunch at work (true story. The meal in the caf was 25 freaking points. That is a lot.)

The bad:

Honestly, I don't think there was anything "bad" this week. Oh, I know! After the gym on Tuesday night I went to Burger King (calm down!) and got a little burger because I WAS STARVING AND LEGIT THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO PASS OUT. In addition, I tracked it. So it was fine. But note to self - make sure to have a post-gym snack on hand.

Thoughts for the coming week:

I see a few challenges in the coming week. I have a couple lunch dates and I am nervous about overindulging at a restaurant. Now, I'm not one to limit myself (file under: why I'm fat) but I just don't want to waste all my points on some disgusting thing. I should check the menus online before I go and prepare. I think that is my biggest challenge to overcome this week.

  1. thank you for picking the sweatiest photo of me (or was my hair just that unruly?) from your 21st birthday ;-)

Reading things, I kind of think of it like a puzzle. Have to fit things together throughout the day to make it all work! That's a good way to look at it. And I think scouting the menu would go well! I do that, regardless ;-) know your enemy, I say. haha
