No photo because I'm just fat looking, not pregnant looking ;)
this week
It felt so good to hit 12 weeks and break the news to everyone! I originally planned to do it on Wednesday after my doc appt but she couldn't pick up baby's heartbeat on the doppler, so we had an ultrasound scheduled for the next morning. The ultrasound went great - baby's heart was beating (151 BPM) and he/she was moving around like crazy! The ultrasound tech mentioned baby was only about an inch and I didn't think anything of it until my Bump.com app said baby should be 2 inches!
On Sunday night around 12am (well, Monday morning) my ultrasound results came back through MyChart, my clinic's online charting thing, and it said I was only measuring at 10 weeks and 2 days and my due date was 1/6/16! This was over two weeks later than my original due date. Naturally, I was alarmed because I was just over 12 weeks when they did the ultrasound. I burst into tears and started telling John I cannot deal with another miscarriage. I called the midwife line and talked to a nurse. She told me to call back at 7 a.m. because the on-call midwife was in a birth and may not get back to me right away. She also let me know that babies measure differently and not to worry too much.
I ended up talking to the midwife resident, who I saw at my appointment the week prior, and she let me know that the midwife consulted with and OB and radiologist and they decided to stay with my original due date. She assured me that measurements are really a best guess and that they can change from day to day. She said everything else looked great. So, still nervewracking but I'm learning that everything in the books and online is just an average - some women will measure small until the end when baby ends up growing like crazy. Woof.
size of baby?
Baby's a plum!
what's going on in there?
Babe's critical systems are formed! His/her brain is developing fast and it's opening and closing its fingers and toes.

maternity clothes?
Not really. Still wearing my favorite few pairs of jeans (though they are extra tight and I have to wear a hair band + belt with them). I did get a few maternity tops in my last two Stitch Fix boxes - they're amazing because they're so long! I love that because I'm tall. Also, yoga pants and leggings FTW.
stretch marks?
Yeah, but it's hard to tell if it's from pregnancy or just from being fat. Sorry to be so harsh but it's the truth.
movement?
Nope, but babe was moving like crazy during the ultrasound. I even saw two arms and two legs :)
food cravings?
Chips and guac, ice water, PB&J, buttered noodles
anything making you queasy or sick?
Dairy :( Doc said to lay off it as much as possible. Also I have little to no desire to eat but am so hungry. I lost 11 lbs between weeks 6 - 12!
what I miss?
Ice cold Summer Shandy beer, cheese, Jimmy John's (no deli meat, WAHHHH)

gender?
We will find out in early August. I have a feeling it's a boy, though. There is only one boy name I like and John is meh on it.

sleep?
Thankfully sleep is easy to come by. I do wake up 2 - 3 times a night to pee, which sucks.

what I'm looking forward to?
I have a 1st tri test (nuchal translucency) on Thursday, and they'll do another ultrasound so it will be good to check out measurements again. I hope everything is OK - this test lets you know about any genetic disorders, spina bifida or if the baby is growing without a brain (O_O My doc was so nonchalant about that!). It's an ultrasound and a finger prick!

I started getting the veggie sub from Jimmy John's when I was pregnant and I love it so much I haven't gone back. It's veggies and avocado spread and it's sooooo good!
