Wedding Wednesday: We Have A Date!

Sorry for the evening post, friends! Tuesday nights are hard because I have class until 9:30 p.m. then am usually too wired for bed. John and I went to Blue Door Pub (YUM) last night after class then cruised around and paid a visit to one of our favorite scenic overlooks in the city.

In other news, we have a wedding date! And a site! For a ceremony and reception! That is a lot of exclamations!

Our wedding date is Friday, August 15, 2014.

The ceremony and reception will be at the Washington County Historic Courthouse in Stillwater, MN.

Eeek!

This is the only place we looked at in person. We did a lot of browsing online, but I fell in love with this place before I visited. I brought grandma, and she loved it (Sidebar, she thinks we should have a themed wedding, i.e. the theme of 1870). Then John and I visited together. John majored in history in college and loves old things. I knew he'd love the space, I was concerned he'd think it is too expensive. But luckily he said we can do whatever I want (aww) and that he loves it, too.

So far we know we are going to do a later ceremony and serve a lot of dessert (I have a connection) and some kind of appetizers.

There is a lot to figure out but since we have this out the way, I feel great! I have a spreadsheet, and lists, and it is glorious.

In order to get in wedding  shape, John and I are doing a fitness challenge at our gym that starts at 6 a.m. (!!!) tomorrow morning. So, I'll be in bed by 9 p.m. Only after I book a cruise with my girlfriends tonight!

To say 2014 will be an expensive year is probably an understatement... oh well, right?!

  1. Congrats! So exciting! As my Husband always says, you can't bring the money with you when you die, right? Haha!

  2. I've never been there before, but it looks awesome! And I love the idea of appetizers/dessert....those are the best part food wise, in my opinion :)
