Baby S: Week 15

this week
Nothing much. I've been feeling really great, actually! I forget that I'm prego.
I had my first "pregnant group" as I call it. It's really called Prenatal Centering Circle. It's a group of mom's (and their partners) to be that meet once a month. Everyone is due in December. Last night we talked about the importance of good nutrition and exercise in pregnancy. I heard baby's heartbeat! It's a strong 160 BPM. So surreal.

size of baby?

what's going on in there?

Baby is squirming a ton (I can't feel it yet).
All baby's joints and limbs can move!

maternity clothes?
I bought some maternity jeans but they suck. Note to self, low panel is not the way to go. Going to venture to Target for some maternity leggings.

stretch marks?
A few more each week. Sigh.

movement?
Not that I can feel!

food cravings?
Fruit, fruit fruit. And salt.

anything making you queasy or sick?
Eating, cleaning the kitchen makes me gag. I've also lost more weight and am down 15 lbs since I found out I was prego!

what I miss?
Drinking and Jimmy John's.

nausea/vomiting?
mostly gone!

symptoms?
Intense hunger, headaches and emotions. I had a major meltdown this weekend for no real reason.

labor signs?
None.

gender?
Still thinking boy but after having lunch with some friends yesterday I'm questioning it. One friend said she was sure it was a boy and then it turned out to be a girl!

belly button in or out?
In
wedding rings on or off?
On
sleep?
The past few nights have been rough because of the 4th of July and storms (barking dog).

what I'm looking forward to?
Scheduled our 20 week ultrasound for August 5th! We'll find out if baby's a HE or SHE! I thought about doing a gender reveal party because I think they're cute and it'd be fun to find out when our family does... but I decided against it. I don't have a good place to have it, if the weather is bad, we're screwed (house too small). Plus, I don't know who to invite/where to draw line of friends/family. AND John is saving PTO so it'd have to be a later party.

This week, we're meeting with a loan officer to see if we qualify for a home loan! I've been eyeing some townhouses in the northern 'burbs. If you would have asked me 6 months ago I would have been all for a cute house in the city but baby on the way changes things. We'd be close to John's parents and the townhouses are new, built less than 10 years ago, so everything is so nice and new. Plus they have an outdoor pool which I can get down with. AND CHEAP. Much less than we're paying in rent. When I look at houses in the same price range in the city, you get a little more than half the square footage, old kitchen that needs to be updated, you're lucky if you get 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It just seems so much easier. Hoping for good news - we've been spending all week getting our life (tax documents, income, etc) together.
