I love blogging. I like writing. In fact, I've been writing for school on a weekly basis, and a lot of it I have intended to turn into blog posts, I just haven't.
I want a different post on my page, because the one I'm seeing, about depression, is sad. Let's be real, depression is sad, but I don't want to see the post whenever I pop onto my blog (which is just to see the blog roll and read my favorite blogs).
It's the middle of October. I quit my job six weeks ago. I've been in school, and nannying. I picked up another little PT job that I can do from home that also looks good on my resume (doing it right now, in another window!). There have been some house projects. The 2nd bedroom in our 2 bedroom house has been Pepto Bismol pink since we moved in back in April. It's been a room to throw junk into, and shut the door. But finally, I decided it was time to do something.
John primed the room (three coats) and then painted (three coats). I tried helping but my perfectionist husband also kicks me out. I just let him do it, he does it better and faster than I do, and painting a room isn't my favorite thing. I have some more ideas for this room. This is just a photo of the clean corner. The room is small, probably 10'x11'. It has two windows and a small closet. It's also where all of John's clothes are stored. We have an old crappy dresser that has an ancient printer (that works really well) on it. I want to get a nice, 3' cabinet with drawers for files, a new printer to put on top of that and a small dresser that will fit in John's closet. Then, a cute chair - I really want to DIY a crappy one with a cute fabric) and a little wooden side table (that I'll paint teal or something).
After one day of it being, I'd say 1/4 done, I like it. I set my laptop up, do my homework, do my work. It's great.
Mostly, I've just been enjoying not having to work until 2pm. I usually sleep in way too late - though I am starting to wake up earlier. A normal day, I'll sleep until 9 or 9:30am. I'm usually awake until 12 or 1am. I'm a natural night owl, so it feels good to me.
I started watching Gilmore Girls on Netflix. I've never seen it before, but some of my friends are obsessed. It's a cute show. I do find myself getting a little bitter about the relationship between Rory and her mom... It's like their sisters, not mother/daughter. I yearn for that a lot, and think about what I will be like with my own children. I picture myself being friendly and the great, cool mom. But then my dog poops and pees on the back porch (I think he was terrified of the vacuum...) and I get filled with rage, bring him out there and put his face in it well saying "Bad dog!" and throw* him into his kennel and lock the door. And now i"m sitting here thinking, Damn it Buddy why'd you do that, I really wanted to snuggle on the couch! And I can't reward him for his bad behavior...
OK I'm ranting. Anyway, I just wanted to pop in. I'm alive. I'm well. I'm happy. I hope to hop back on the blog writing train. I'm an avid blog reader! I've been reading everyone's blogs at least every other day!
*Just an expression. I was in no way hurtful or mean to my dog, I love him nearly as much as my husband.

Good to know things are going well with your new adventures!! I also like the new look.
